Shirley Taylor

ARC: Connections: Tributes: Shirley Taylor

It is with sadness that I write to tell you of the passing of one of our marketing colleagues. Shirley Taylor passed away peacefully Tuesday night after a courageous battle with cancer. Shirley was an Associate Professor and a Distinguished Faculty Research Fellow in Marketing at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. She taught both undergraduate and graduate students how to conduct high quality research. Shirley's own research was well-known in the area of Services Marketing, with a special emphasis on managing perceptions of the wait experience. Her more recent work focused on developing strategies for service providers to change customers' perceptions of delays. Shirley published in numerous marketing journals including the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Service Research, the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, the International Journal of Research in Marketing, and the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing. Shirley was a wonderful colleague and dear friend to many at Queen's, and they will miss her very much, as will any of us fortunate to have known her.
