Preparing For The Test
What’s the best way to prepare for the test?
There is no “best way” to prepare for the exam. Each person has different educational and professional backgrounds and will probably need to review different topic areas. This is a self-study program which tests your knowledge of core marketing concepts. There is a detailed outline of the concepts you will be tested on in the Test Specifications portion of the application packet. You should review these specifications to determine where your knowledge and skills are the least developed. >From there, you can select a text(s) from the Suggested Reading Material list found in your application packet. Finally, you can also test your marketing knowledge with these sample PCM questions:

The PCM exam can be taken whenever your availability coincides with your chosen testing center’s availability.
How long does my certification last?
The PCM™ is a symbol of professional excellence that affirms your commitment to quality in the practice of marketing. To maintain this commitment to excellence, the AMA asks you to maintain your certification through continuing professional marketing education and growth. To do this, we require you to complete 36 hours of continuing education activities every three years. These hours can be achieved through a variety of activities such as attending seminars, belonging to and serving on a marketing association committee, writing articles, and any other activities that contribute to your professional growth and to the industry as a whole.
