Peer Reviewed Articles:

We look for both qualitative and quantitative articles which address the educational issues in Marketing. Education is interpreted in a broad sense to encourage contributions on such topics as:

  • Curriculum design at the undergraduate level
  • MBA programs
  • Marketing courses
  • Ph.D. programs: training, contents, pedagogical preparation
  • Course design and teaching methods
  • Continuing Professional Development for Marketing Faculty
  • Evaluation of student learning
  • Faculty Evaluation and Professional Development
  • Inter-disciplinary teaching
  • Designing a new course
  • Quantity versus quality of assignments
  • How do we "improve communication skills" through assignments and grading
  • The increasingly difficult area of intellectual honesty
  • How do you adapt to varying class sizes
  • What are some of the best sources on things like team building (turning group work into a skill development process)
  • Grading for writing
  • Teaching research skills to students, using business sources, databases
Articles will be evaluated for their potential utility to other professionals, the quality and currency of the research, and the quality of the presentation.

Dialogue:

Essays, interviews, teaching materials, and other musings which can inspire, provoke thought, or encourage the development of the field are also encouraged. Essays on marketing and teaching per se, are, of course, core materials. We hope that you will also contribute thoughts on academic management, accreditation issues, governance, professional development, exchange and visiting teaching, marketing education in countries in addition to the United States, etc.

Interviews with leading practitioners, those responsible for hiring graduates, or those involved with new research ideas/techniques are welcome. Responses to these essays will be considered for publication. As we continue to evolve on the Website, responses and reactions will be possible. Publication decision is the responsibility of the Editor and the Board.

Cases:

Cases, along with case notes and responses from practioners, are published. You are encouraged to submit cases or to volunteer to solicit practioner reactions.

Additional submissions, not specifically addressed above, are encouraged. If you have questions concerning suitability, please contact the Associated Editor at:
