ARC: Connections: ELMAR: Posting: Anonymous Postings

In general, posters are requested to identify themselves to the moderator with a short "sig file", including their institution or employer. However, from time to time the moderator may delete some or all of a sig file in order to save space.

In some rare instances senders may request anonymity for a posting.

Please note that under no circumstances will a posting be made unless the moderator can establish reliable email contact with you! If moderator email to you bounces, the posting will simply not be made.

In general, an anonymous posting does not require that you be anonymous to the moderator. This situation is analogous to the traditional journal double-blind review in which the editor knows the identity of the writer and the reviewers, and prevents the parties from learning the others' identities.  However, if you wish to remain anonymous even to the moderator, make sure the moderator can send email to you at some throw-away address.
