Money Talks: Social Media-Savvy Companies Ratchet Up Revenue

Money talks, and it’s declaring that there is a clear payoff for companies that engage in social media.

Increasingly, organizations are questioning whether social media efforts are worth the investment.  According to new research from social media platform Wetpaint and digital consulting firm Altimeter Group, the answer seems to be “yes”. 

The research revealed that there is a clear correlation between a brand’s social media efforts and revenue growth.  On average, companies with high levels of social media activity experienced an 18% increase in revenue in the last year, while the least active saw sales drop 6% over that same period.
