Learn Lingo for Today with New Urban Dictionary

What's your mullet strategy?  Or are you too busy developing your murketing and netography campaigns? You may find this is all just deja-moo or you may just have a bad case of Twitterrhea, but whatever you do, don't be caught engaging in yellular or you won't be regarded as a scuppie.

Say what?  If you’re scratching your head trying to decipher that, it’s time for a vocabulary makeover.  Chicago-based ad agency Cramer-Krasselt aims to help you move from a hip-to-be-square to a cooler-than-you vocab with the creation of its second “Cultural Dictionary".  The Cultural Dictionary is divided into nine categories: economy, environment, ethics, personalities & relationships, politics, street slang, social networking, stress & life, technology. 

While a number of this year’s terms are suited for today’s snarky hipsters, others offer real insight into a consumer culture captivated by all things electronic and social.  C-K’s Cultural Dictionary is an off shoot of research for its white paper, “Shifting Times: What Brands Need to Know to Navigate Today’s Economy.”  In the paper, the ad agency identifies “societal trends,” such as “Sin vs. Salvation spending,” which is the conflict between fiscally responsible and hopeful (luxury) spending.
