Summary

Once the exclusive domain of indie music and film aficionados, the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) conference in Austin, TX has grown into a must-attend event for social media strategists and interactive professionals.  This year’s South by Southwest Interactive Festival attracted more than 11,000 registrants, an increase of 25% over 2008 levels.

A host of new media experts offered their insights about what lies ahead.  The future of e-mail, data portability, open networks, influencing the influencers and the increasing use of self-contained feeds were just a few of the topics addressed.
