The AMA Collegiate Chapters Council (CCC), which oversees more than 250 chapters and 11,000+ members, has established an ambitious agenda for 2008-2009.  Charged with assisting AMA collegiate chapters, the CCC plans and executes wide-ranging strategic and tactical initiatives to help collegiate chapters grow and prosper.  In addition to its two signature programs--the AMA Case Competition and the AMA International Collegiate Conference--the CCC has launched a number of new and/or expanded initiatives, including support for regional collegiate conferences, a recruitment video competition, AMA Collegiate President and Chapter Advisor Board-in-a-Box, an Ambassador Program designed to recruit and support collegiate chapters, Job Board and expanded recruiting services, and the creation of an AMA Collegiate Panel which will be made available for a fee to firms interested in seeking research input from AMA members.

Once again, the highlight of the year will be the annual AMA International Collegiate Conference.  In addition to keynote and “experience speaks” sessions targeting the conference’s anticipated 1,400+ attendees, other events include the AMA Case Competition final presentations (Kodak is the client), a Sabre Simulation Competition, Northwest Mutual Sales Competition, and a host of other fun activities.  New to the conference next year will be an expanded Career Corners, which will allow potential employers to pre-screen applicants and schedule on-site interviews.

The CCC and the Collegiate AMA make for a powerful partnership.  Fueled by the efforts of Immediate Past President, Keith Niedermeier from the University of Pennsylvania, the collegiate chapter division has set its sights on expanding the services it provides collegiate members and potential employers of collegiate students.  New to the CCC this year is Shanita Akintonde (Columbia University) and Scott Swanson (University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire). Returning members include: Jimmy Peltier (President, CCC, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater), Jack Schibrowsky (President-Elect, University of Nevada-Las Vegas), Vish Iyer (President-Elect Designate, University of Northern Colorado), Keith Niedermeier (Immediate Past President, University of Pennsylvania), Gail Zank (Texas State University-San Marcos), Fred Honerkamp (Northwood University), Tim Dugan Birrittella (Florida International University), and Victoria Panzer (University of Southern Florida).
