Summary

What is Web 2.0? According to Steve Richardson, it is a new version of the Internet, but more importantly it is about sharing information between users.
Web 2.0 has a large impact on the qualitative research industry. Online focus groups are being utilized instead of face-to-face. There are more tools available to researchers such as message boards, video clips, blogs, and online surveying. There is a downside to Web 2.0 as well. There are so many options available to researchers that it can be difficult to make decisions and choose methodologies. To deal with this downside researchers have found they have to be smarter and more strategic.
