Summary

We’ve always kept our primary payment methods in intimate bodily contact, whether it’s a backpocket wallet or grandmother’s coin purse tucked into a bra strap. Perhaps one day our money will be stored on microchips implanted in our forearms.
Thankfully nobody is performing surgery just yet, but payments are becoming high-tech: Now that smartphones are more or less grafted onto our dominant hand, it’s no surprise that the money wants to snuggle up to this very personal technology as well. Enter the mobile wallet.
