The AMA has partnered with Kohler, the leading manufacturer of plumbing fixtures, to bring you the "Kohler Save Water America" Competition. If your school or your AMA chapter is interested in going green or water conservation and its impact on sustainability, this competition is for you!
In the current job market, many students are finding it helpful to have some background in the area of sustainability. This competition provides that experience.
Most of our other competitions take place either in the fall or at the International Collegiate Conference. This is perfectly positioned to provide your chapter with an easy way to enter a competition that will:
1. Help your chapter in the annual chapter awards competition. Remember that entering competitions is a point of emphasis this year.
2. Provide a professional development opportunity for your chapter and its members.
3. Afford your Chapter's members the opportunity to participate in a valuable service learning opportunity that focuses on sustainability.
4. This is a great resume builder for those students entering the workforce this summer or next fall.
5. Winners will receive an all expense paid trip to meet with Kohler's executives at their corporate headquarters. This would be a great way to jump start your marketing careers.
Save Water America Competition
Essentially the competition entails developing an event plan to execute a one day "Save Water America Event." The plan is limited to a five page proposal. Kohler strongly recommends that the event be planned to be "held in conjunction with a pre-existing community or campus event, but it could be executed as an independent conservation event." Three finalists will be aided by Kohler to actually run the event.
