Friday Dinner Keynote Speaker:
Michael Smith, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Creative and Brand Strategy, Food Network
As a native Canadian who grew up in Jamaica and now lives in New York, Michael Smith’s palate has experienced a broad spectrum of marketing flavors. He will share with us his thoughts on the topic of ‘Building a Brand One Bite at a Time: Lessons in Marketing and Leadership’.
Michael Smith is responsible for all consumer marketing for Food Network. Previously Smith worked for Disney/ABC Cable Networks from 1990 to 1998 in a variety of sales, marketing and programming roles, both in the U.S. and in Asia, including serving as Executive Director of On-Air Promotion for Disney Channel. And from 1988 to 1990 he worked for the CBS Television Network in affiliate relations.
Smith began his media career as an account executive at Young and Rubicam Advertising. He holds an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and received his undergraduate degree in Science, Technology and Society from Stanford University.
