Executive Secretary and Membership Director

This Executive Secretary will be responsible for maintaining all documents associated with MAS SIG’s activities for reference by future members, directors, and chairs. The records should be maintained in an archive which can be readily accessed by directors, chairs, and ex-officio members of MAS SIG. In addition this position will require interfacing with MAS SIG Board as new documents and processes emerge. It will also require interacting with MAS SIG Board members to ensure (through reminders, etc.) that all the procedures that are instituted by MAS SIG Board members are documented and stored in an archive.

In addition, the Executive Secretary will be responsible for developing and maintaining the membership list for MAS SIG. This includes working with the MAS SIG Board to develop a list of MAS SIG members and a list of those who are on our email list but not members of MAS SIG. This information will be used to encourage the ‘non’-MAS SIG members of our community to select Marketing and Society as their SIG of choice for AMA. The Executive Secretary will work with the Board to help develop strategies and implementations of viable strategies to increase our membership.

Since our budget is directly tied to members who join MAS SIG through their AMA membership we need to actively work to enlist our community members to join the Marketing and Society SIG. This is important so that we can bring in the revenues that we need to continue to sponsor the activities that we currently do such as the Ph.D. Dissertation contest, the Student Best Paper award for MPPC, the Marketing & Public Policy Workshop, etc.
