About CBSIG
ARC: Connections: SIGs:
CBSIG
Our
goals at CBSIG (Consumer Behavior Special Interest Group) are simple: to be
AMA’s resource for consumer behavior academics. We provide socials at every AMA
conference, often provide a special session on a hot cbtopic, and
sometimes sponsor off-site events. For instance, at Summer AMA this year, we
sponsored an off-site dinner at a nice restaurant in San Francisco. We
also sponsor a coffee break at each ACR conference, as the CBSIG community is
often ACR bound. We also have the CBSIG Quarterly, edited by Linda Tuncay,
which goes to members. Last, cbsig.org
features our annual reports, photos of CBSIG events, and some cb-related
content for academics.
Things we are working on include: an off-site learning event, and updating our
website to keep it fresh and relevant for cb scholars. We will also be seeking
a new officer that will serve as a doctoral student liaison. We are in progress
of planning an off-site event in Chicago for Summer AMA 2012. In addition, we
are seeking special sessions to sponsor at Summer AMA 2012. The members’ input
is an important part of CBSIG.
Why should you become a member of CBSIG?
As
a member:
1. You
can network with other people who share your interests (both at conferences and
via virtual communities). The CB SIG is in the process of organizing special
conferences and events.
2. You
will be frequently updated with relevant news about events, conferences,
etcetera by means of our CBSIG Quarterly Newsletter.
3.You
will be informed about upcoming opportunities (e.g., for funding, publishing,
teaching) in the CB area.
