Winter AMA 2010 - New Orleans

ARC: Connections: Conferences: Winter 2010: Theme

Marketing 2010: Strategies and Solutions for a Tumultuous Economy

is the theme for the AMA 2010 Winter Marketing Educators’ Conference scheduled for February 19-22, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Given the trials, tribulations, and tumult that have characterized our global economy over the past 18 months, marketing academics and practitioners must find new solutions to ensure viability in these changing times. Traditional marketing strategies may not apply in an era where marketing practice has become intertwined with social, economic, regulatory, legal, ethical, and consumer challenges on a global scale. Marketing academics must fulfill their role by engaging in research that will give today’s business leaders a clear, unobstructed view of the diversity of issues facing marketing practice in today’s organizations. Access to this type of cutting-edge research is critical if today’s business leaders and marketing academics are to have a full appreciation for the key issues that affect the strategic and tactical marketing activities of the firm.

The Winter Educators’ Conference is an important forum for research, intellectual exchange, professional development, and networking with colleagues from around the world. Our goal is to create a program that offers topics covering a wide range of marketing issues, especially those that address the conference theme: “Marketing 2010: Strategies and Solutions for a Tumultuous Economy.” We encourage participants to submit their best work, whether it is empirical, conceptual, or applied. We also seek innovative and meaningful special session proposals that seek to expand the boundary of current marketing theory and practice.

General Information

The conference is organized around 12 tracks, each with a Chair or Co-Chairs. This includes one track dedicated to the needs of our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) (see Track 12 for details). You may direct submission of a competitive paper or special session proposal to any one of 11 different tracks or a SIG-related special session proposal to the SIG Track Chair. [Very important note: Anyone wanting to participate in SIG programming at the conference should contact the relevant SIG leader or the SIG Track Chair. The ARC has a complete listing of current SIGs and contact information.]

Conference Co-Chairs:

Michael K. Brady and Michael D. Hartline
