Can you recommend a marketable web certification that would add to my credentials and potential sources for achieving this certification?

Question 
      Can you recommend a marketable web certification that would add to my credentials and potential sources for achieving this certification?
 
Answer
My general position on certification in the web space is that they really don’t matter much, and, in fact, that they only really matter in IT networking (and even there opinions on their value is split). What does matter? Professional experience.
 
That being said, if you have a certain level of professional experience, certain types of certification may serve as an added differentiator on your resume. For example, Google offers a “Google Adwords Certification” and if you are involved in SEM, then it may make sense to get that. You need to be managing an Adword budget to qualify in the first place, so certification does indicate a certain level of experience.
