When unemployed should I take a job that I know won't be a good fit until I find a better one or should I hold out till I find one that is a good fit as to not seem like I am 'skipping' around from job to job?
I generally recommend holding out for a job that is a better fit if at all possible. However, there are times when it may be wiser to accept the position depending upon your economic and personal situation. Determine whether there might be opportunities for advancement in the future. If not, consider how long you would be willing to stay in a position that does not present longer-term opportunities for you. Hopping from job to job can hurt your résumé, so you do need to take this into consideration.
