Susan Athey is Chief Economist at Microsoft Corporation, as well as a Professor of Economics at Harvard University. She is an expert on internet search and online advertising, and helps guide strategy and marketplace design for Microsoft. Susan received her Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. Her contributions to the fields of industrial organization, econometrics, and microeconomic theory won Susan the prestigious Clark Award in 2007 for the most accomplished American economist under 40. And in 2009, Fast Company named Susan #18 on their list of The 100 Most Creative People in Business today.
