Hugh is the CEO of Mobile Anthem, a marketing agency that connects brands to their mobile consumer. Mobile Anthem’s clients include national brands like Procter & Gamble, Sara Lee, Peeps, and Hot Tamales and marketing agencies. He is a marketer with 14 years of experience in food, high tech and personal care at places like Kraft Foods, Palm and Procter & Gamble. During his years at P&G he built and executed marketing campaigns for Gillette Venus that integrated mobile marketing inside traditional media, a first in the foremost branding company in the world.
Hugh is also the founder and Executive Director of the Heartland Mobile Council, a non-profit he created to educate marketers on how to use mobile as a marketing channel. The council has over a hundred members including industry leaders and produces conferences, workshops, webinars and white papers. With the confluence of consumer brand companies, agencies and market research in the Heartland, the HMC can help guide marketers across the country through this new marketing channel.
He has his MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a Bachelors in Engineering from Northwestern University. Hugh is the Mobile Advisor for the American Marketing Association – Chicago chapter, a director on the Ross Chicago Alumni Board, and an Account Director for the Taproot Foundation.
When not thinking of novel interactions with one of his ten mobile phones, he can be found cooking, reading (at 500+ wpm), traveling (22 countries in 10 months) or snowboarding.
