Event Registration FAQs 

Q: How do I register for an event online?

A: Please visit www.marketingpower.com and search for the event you wish to attend under the “Calendar” tab on the home page. Click on the “Registration” tab and complete the online registration process.

Q: How do I register for an event by phone?

A: To register with a credit card by phone, please call Customer Service at 1 800.AMA.1150. Press “1” for Customer Service.

Q: How do I register for an event by mail?

A: Please visit www.marketingpower.com and search for the event you wish to attend. Click on the “Registration” tab, follow the easy steps and print the “Event Registration” form. Mail the form and payment to:

You can also fax the “Event Registration form” and credit card payment to 1 312.542.9001, attention Customer Service.

Q: Do I get a discount if I register early?

A: Most events have an “early” registration discount. Registration fees increase as you get closer to the event. The prices for each event are listed on the website (www.marketingpower.com)

Q: Do I get a registration discount if I am an AMA member?

A: Absolutely! Join the AMA and one of the many benefits you’ll receive is discounted event registration fees. To become an AMA member go to www.marketingpower.com/layouts/registrations or call Customer Service at 1.800.AMA.1150. Press “1” for Customer Serice.

Q: Is there a student registration discount?

A: Events targeted to the Academic community typically offer discounts for doctoral students only. Discounts vary by program. Details would be available online at www.marketingpower.com.

Q: How late can I register?

A: In order to ensure proper programming preparation (i.e. materials, seating etc.) pre-registration is preferred. However, onsite registration is also available.  For more information regarding late registration and availability for a specific event, please call Customer Service at 1 800.AMA.1150. Press “1” for Customer Service.

Q: What if I need an invoice for my event registration fee?

A: The AMA will send you an invoice to aid in the registration process, but please be aware that your registration will not be confirmed until full payment is received. To receive an invoice, please call Customer Service at 1 800.AMA.1150. Press “1” for Customer Service.

Q: After I register for an event, where can I find travel information?

A: On the www.marketingpower.com website go to the TRAVEL tab for the specific event you would like to attend to find for hotel and transportation information.

Q: Should I make my hotel reservation when I register for the conference?

A: Advance hotel reservations are recommended, as AMA discounted hotel rates are based on availability. The hotel cut-off date for reservations is typically 4 weeks prior to the event, but if rooms are available, the cut-off date will be extended.

Q: Where can I manage my past and upcoming events?

A: You can view past and upcoming events at www.marketingpower.com. After you login, go to MY PROFILE, EVENTS. You will be able to access materials and presentations for events that you have or will be attending (available at the conclusion of the event).

Q: What is the cancellation policy for my conference registration?

A: Registration may not be shared by two or more individuals. There will be no refunds on or after the start date of the event. All requests for cancellations must be received in writing. All inquiries should be directed to Customer Service at 1.800.AMA.1150. Press “1” for Customer Service.
