In today’s challenging economic climate, every nonprofit needs an organization-wide commitment to a comprehensive marketing strategy so it will stand out among the growing number of nonprofits competing for funding, programs and volunteers. The American Marketing Association (AMA) Nonprofit Boot Camp® will give nonprofit leaders the tools needed to create and enhance an organization’s marketing strategy. Facilitated by an experienced AMA instructor, the AMA and the AMA Foundation offer this training in marketing fundamentals with a strategic overview of what marketing involves and how it can be applied to nonprofit organizations.

What You Will Learn
This intensive 1 ½ day workshop will equip participants with critical knowledge and skills they can use immediately. It provides training in marketing fundamentals with a strategic overview of what marketing involves and how it can be applied in nonprofits.

• Positioning your organization in a competitive marketplace

• Strengthening stakeholder relationships

• Applying the elements of marketing

• Understanding who your customers are

• Developing and implementing an effective marketing plan

Who Should Attend
This program is designed primarily as an introduction to marketing fundamentals
for staff new to nonprofit marketing. Those with more marketing experience may
also want to attend for a back-to-basics refresher course.

From Downtown Airport:
Upon leaving parking area, follow signs for Broadway. Follow Broadway south to 47th Street.
Turn east (left) on 47th Street; follow about 6 blocks to Rockhill Road.
Turn south (right) on Rockhill Road; follow to 4801 (about 1 1/2 blocks).

From Kansas City International Airport:
Take Interstate 29 south. (It’s 18 miles to Downtown.)
Interstate 29 and Interstate 35 merge just north of the Missouri River. (I-29 ends.)
Follow Interstate 35 south to the second Broadway Exit. (The sign says, “Exit 1B 27th Street Broadway.)
Follow Broadway south to 47th Street.
Turn east (left) on 47th Street; follow about 6 blocks to Rockhill Road.
Turn south (right) on Rockhill Road; follow to 4801 (about 1 1/2 blocks).

From the North:
Interstate 29 and Interstate 35 merge just north of the Missouri River. (I-29 ends.)
Follow Interstate 35 south to the second Broadway Exit. (The sign says, “Exit 1B 27th Street Broadway.)
Follow Broadway south to 47th Street.
Turn east (left) on 47th Street; follow about 6 blocks to Rockhill Road.

From the East:
Interstate 70 intersects with Interstate 435 just west of Truman Sports Complex.
Follow Interstate 435 south to first exit (Eastwood Trafficway).
Exit west (right) and go 3 blocks to Blue Parkway.
Turn west (right) and follow Blue parkway for about 4 miles. It changes names to Swope Parkway and then to Volker Boulevard.
Turn north (right) on Rockhill Road. Cross the bridge and turn right at 4801.

From the Southwest:
Follow Interstate 35 north to Shawnee Mission parkway exit.
Follow Shawnee Mission Parkway east. At the Missouri State line it becomes Ward Parkway.
Keep going east (do not turn south) on Ward Parkway. After 1 1/2 miles it becomes Volker Boulevard.
Follow Volker Boulevard east to Rockhill Road (about 4 blocks).
Turn north (left) on Rockhill Road one block to 4801.

From the South:
Interstate 435 intersects with US Highway 71. Go north on 71. Exit at Swope Parkway.
Turn west (left) on Swope Parkway, which soon changes its name to Volker Boulevard.
Follow Volker Boulevard to Rockhill Road.
Turn north (right) on Rockhill Road one block to 4801.

From the West:
Follow Interstate 70 east. Exit on Interstate 670.
Proceed about 2 miles and exit on Interstate 35 south.
Follow it for 1 mile and exit on Broadway. (You can go south only.)
Stay on Broadway to 47th Street. Turn east (left) on 47th Street.
Take 47th Street for about 6 blocks to Rockhill Road.
Turn south (right) on Rockhill Road for 1-1/2 blocks to 4801.


NOTE: 47th Street in some areas may also be called Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd.
