The AMA Nominating Committee has announced the slate of candidates for 2009-2010 national office. The 2009-2010 candidates are:
- Thomas K. Hernquist, Former Senior Vice President, Global Chief Growth Officer of The Hershey Corporation, will run unopposed for Chairperson of the Board.
- George Day, University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business will run unopposed for Chairperson of Board-Elect
- Michael Kullman, Director of Corporate Marketing, DuPont, will run unopposed for Secretary-Treasurer.
Six candidates will run for the four openings for At-Large Board positions. They are:
- Leona Foster, Market Strategies International
- Abbie Griffin, Royal L. Garff Presidential Chair in marketing, David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah
- Jeff Hunter, Director Consumer Insights, General Mills, Inc.
- Michele Kessler, Marketing Vice President, Mars Snackfood US
- Russ Winer, Professor of Marketing, New York University Stern School of Business
- Gordon Wyner, Executive Vice President, Millward Brown
In addition, the Academic Council, Collegiate Chapters Council, Marketing Research Council and Professional Chapters Council have elected the following individuals to run unopposed for President-Elect of those Councils:
- Academic Council – Beth Walker, Arizona State University
- Marketing Research Council – Joan Treistman, The Treistman Group
- Professional Chapters Council – Christine Mathers, Weatherford International Ltd
- Collegiate Chapters Council – Vishwanathan Iyer, University of Northern Colorado
