Valarie Zeithaml Recognized as 2009 AMA Irwin/McGraw-Hill Distinguished Marketing Educator The AMA is proud to announce that Valarie Zeithaml is the recipient of the 2009 AMA Irwin/McGraw-Hill Distinguished Marketing Educator Award. In introducing the award winner during the 2009 Winter Educators Conference, Bart Weitz describes Valarie as "a triple threat--an outstanding scholar and instructor who also makes considerable service contributions to our discipline."
Best Paper in Instructional Innovation Addresses Non-Linear Grading Does a traditional grading system do a great disservice to today's students? Has higher education neglected validity of grading? Birgit Leisen Pollack and Bryan Lilly, both of the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh address these issues in "Non-Linear Grading: Inventory of Practices and Test of Effects," the winner of the Best Paper in the Instructional Innovation track at the 2009 AMA Winter Marketing Educators' Conference.

Nearly 500 Academics Gather at Winter Marketing Educators' Conference Despite the challenges many universities are facing due to today's poor economic conditions, the AMA Winter Marketing Educators' Conference attracted nearly 500 academics who gathered at the annual event to share their insights, knowledge and experiences.
SIG Special Session Focuses on How Economy is Affecting Doctoral Students A special session of the AMA's Doctoral Student Special Interest Group held during the Winer Marketing Educators' Conference focused on how the current economic situation affects faculty and doctoral candidates.
AMA Honors Best of the Best in Academic Publishing The AMA recognized achievement in academic publishing during its annual Awards Luncheon at the 2009 WInter Marketing Educators' Conference. Two dozen awards were presented including 2009 Best Overall Paper, 11 Track Best Papers and the Sheth Foundation/Journal of Marketing Award.
