V. Kumar Earns 2009 Churchill Lifetime Achievement Award
The Marketing Research Special Interest Group (MRSIG) is proud to announce that V. Kumar of Georgia State University is the 2009 Churchill Award winner. The Churchill Award for lifetime achievement in the academic study of Marketing Research is given each year by the AMA Market Research Special Interest Group to an outstanding research scholar for lifetime contribution to the academic field of marketing research.

Marketing Research SIG Announces 2009 Lehmann Award Winners
The Marketing Research Special Interest Group (MRSIG) is pleased to announce that Lan Luo of the University of Southern California, with co-authors, P. K. Kannan, University of Maryland, and Brian T. Ratchford, University of Texas at Dallas, are the recipients of the 2009 Lehmann Award. This Lehmann Award is given each year to the best dissertation-based article published in the Journal of Marketing or Journal of Marketing Research in the previous two years.

Summer Marketing Educators' Conference to Highlight Marketing Role in Defining Sustainability Goals
Recently, there has been an explosion of research activity in organizations and government related to sustainability and green initiatives. Much of this is a direct result of consumers recognizing the importance of changing the way that they consume products and services so as to reduce our impact on the earth. The 2009 AMA Summer Marketing Educators’ Conference will address the marketer’s role in defining sustainability goals for organizations.

JPPM Special Issue Focuses on Restricted Consumption
The spring special issue of the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing focuses on how restricted consumption can illuminate consumer behaviors under constrained conditions. Articles in this issue, edited by Stacey Menzel Baker, cover marketing and public policy perspectives at the top of national and international policy agendas and have already received notice in international publications and by congressional leadership. The issue particularly resonates in today’s global marketplace as industry and government grapple with economic disparity and sustainable business, consumption and environmental practices.
